There are many benefits of membership in the Italian Cultural Center!
The Italian Cultural Center of Western Massachusetts, Inc. (the "ICC") is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 to promote and celebrate the Italian culture and heritage in all of its facets.
Previously, dozens of local Italian groups had been created to celebrate and foster specific aspects of Italian culture, towns or regions of Italy, Italian/American war veterans, religious organizations, etc., but the ICC celebrates "all things Italian"!
The ICC was originally located in a building on Acushnet Avenue. In 2006 the ICC moved to a temporary location on Maple Street while we searched for a suitable building to purchase as our own.
Finally, in 2008 the ICC purchased the former primary school (originally a fire station) located at 56 Margaret Street, in the heart of Springfield's South End. With our foundation firmly beneath us, we created many new successful events and heightened our presence in the Springfield area and in Western Massachusetts. Over the years, with our expanded presence, we have seen our membership grow substantially!
The ICC is a Tax-Exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to the ICC are tax deductions.
