We are very proud of our library, one of the very few Italian libraries in the State of Massachusetts! It is devoted solely to Italy and all things Italian. It contains books in English as well as those in Italian. We also have magazines, music CD’s and videos. All of which are available for your reading, listening and viewing pleasure!
Our collection includes many books of fiction and nonfiction on a variety of subjects.. We have biographies, cookbooks, children's books, books on history, travel, poetry, art, architecture and local authors.
We also have books on the various regions of Italy, as well as some select cities. In both cases, they cover traveling in Italy as well as the history of the region or city.
Also included are books on the Italian emigration, the Italian American Internment, Italian culture and much more. Our collection also includes some current fiction by authors such as Adriana Trigianni, Paul Pezzimenti, David Baldaci, etc.
One DVD of interest is a 5 DVD series entitled “Our Story-The Italian American”. The DVD covers the Italian American experiences in America such as “And They Came to Chicago”, “Frank Sinatra-The Man & the Myth”, “The Pride and The Passion”, “Italian American Internment, The True Story of Sacco and Vanzettti”, and “Being Italian: A Memoir”.
We welcome suggestions for additions to the library in any area and also accept donations. In some cases, we have received book donations in memory of a family member or friend, which is a lovely way of remembrance. All donated books will have a gift label.
The library is available for the use of all of our members. You can borrow books, magazines, CD’s or DVDs for a period of one month. The library is open during all of our events including member meetings. You can also make an appointment to pick out or return library materials by contacting the ICC at: 413 784-1492 or firstname.lastname@example.org
